Ardbeg Distillery

Follow your nose along the most famous road in the history of malt whisky and eventually you’ll arrive at Ardbeg. Located on the rugged shoreline at the southern end of Islay, it’s a fantastic place to visit and there’s a range of tours available. 

Ardbeg has been called “as close to perfection as makes no difference,” by whisky connoisseurs. Using malted barley sourced from the maltings at Port Ellen, Ardbeg claims to produce the peatiest whisky in Islay. It’s a whisky that’s worshipped around the world. In the past ten years, six different Ardbeg expressions have won prestigious titles including World Whisky of the Year, Scotch Whisky of the Year and World’s Best Single Malt. Shop now.

Through the years, a warm welcome has always awaited our peaty pilgrims, notably in the form of a warming dram, as well as a friendly greeting from Jackie and the team at the Visitor Centre. Whether you’re an Ardbeginner or a seasoned connoisseur, come and learn more about our wonderful whisky and explore our beautiful Distillery on one of our fascinating tours or tastings. 

You can also taste a dram or two in the excellent visitor centre. The shop offers a selection of Ardberg whiskies and other local products. We are open Tuesday to Thursday.
