Ardkinglas Estate
Ardkinglas Estate
Ardkinglas House on the shores of Loch Fyne was built by Sir Robert Lorimer in 1907 for Sir Andrew Noble whose descendants still live there.
It is a rare example of Edwardian craftsmanship little altered over the intervening years. A guided tour will take you from the main kitchen with its white glazed tiles and original range to the magnificent first floor drawing room and up to the bedrooms on the second floor. Open by appointment or on every Friday from April to September @ 2.00pm, booking essential.
The Woodland Garden is open all the year round with an outstanding collection of plants and trees, including the "Mightiest Conifer in Europe", as well as The Gruffalo Trail and the new Fairy Trail for kids.
So after the kids have enjoyed the Gruffalo Trail, grown ups can make a fun-packed foodie trail of their own in the area. Admission to Ardkinglas Woodland Garden including the Gruffalo Trail is £5 per person or £15 per family
There is also self-catering accommodation on site.
