The Bute Island Alliance is a collective of organisations, institutions and individuals helping to build a better Bute.
The Bute Island Alliance was established in 2016 to take forward the ambitions of local people, organisations and businesses. The activities of the charity are defined by members and steered by a board of volunteer trustees. Membership is open to both individuals and organsiations and is free. Project: Ardencraig Gardens
Ardencraig Gardens is a walled garden in Rothesay. It has been developed to create a propagation, education and show garden. Visitors can enjoy the brightly coloured fuchsia and bedding displays, as well as a large selection of more exotic plant species within the glasshouses. In March 2021 Argyll & Bute Council announced a decision to close the plant nursery at Ardencraig Gardens. The Bute Island Alliance advocated on behalf off the gardens, supporting a volunteer committee in council discussions
