Watersports in Scotland's Adventure Coast

With a vast coastline, our Hebridean islands and many lochs, our marine environment is part and parcel of life in Argyll and the Isles.

When visiting Scotland's adventure coast, don’t miss out on the opportunity to take to the water. From surfing to kayaking, sailing to windsurfing; our waters activities are a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

Much of Argyll's coastline and many sheltered sea lochs are excellent for watersports, but also for yacht charters, sail and cruise holidays.

Argyll is a world-renowned sailing destination as the entire region offers incredible sailing, from the Clyde sea lochs, Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute all fabulous cruising grounds or great for learning to sail dinghies.

Oban is a popular spot with sailors but it is also a great base for paddling enthusiasts; whether that is kayaking, canoeing or SUPs.

The windy conditions which blow over the west coast mean that Tiree and the Kintyre peninsula are among the best places to surf and windsurf in Scotland.
